Resurrecting Old Blog Posts
You’ll hear a lot of bloggers saying “if you don’t know what to write about, you’re not looking hard enough”. I partly disagree with this because there are some people out there juggling their blog, has a full-time job, and needs to spend time with their family. Some days there might not be enough time to research information to create pillar post content. A pillar post is usually a post containing 500 words or more and very information on the subject at hand. I read a great post from Marko Saric titled 7 Effective Ways to Resurrect Old Blog Content. Here’s an excert from his post:
“Rank and tank. That is the nature of blog content on the Internet. Most blog posts are destined to have a few shining weeks in the search engines before they disappear into your archives never to be heard from again.
It is difficult to consistently create great content for your readership when you are always creating content from scratch.”
2 More Ways To Resurrect Old Blog Content
I advise you to check out Marko’s post first because I would like to add 2 more ways to resurrect your old blog content:
- List Post: Create a list post from your old blog posts, but make sure each post is similar in topic. This not only helps your readers navigate to similar posts, but it also creates internal linking within your blog.
- Social Media: Marko noted to tweet your blog post, but he forgot to mention all the other big social media players out there like Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.ic.ous, etc. Doing this the right way can bring in tremendous amounts of traffic to your blog

It’s a great way to bring your old posts back to life. You can also Retweet them every once in awhile to push the content to new followers.
Also, please remember to use a name in the author name field, I use KeyWordLuv on this blog. Thanks
