Ezinearticles is a great way to generate backlinks and traffic back to your site from article submissions. But what if you’re an affiliate marketer looking to find a niche to promote?
First off, here are two important guidelines to follow when choosing a niche to promote affiliate products:
- Passion: Don’t get me wrong, you can sell things that you’re not passionate about and make money, but if you’re passionate about something then most likely you already have a lot of knowledge in that area. Feeling comfortable in your niche resonates professionalism to your landing pages, blogs, etc.
- Problem: Ahh problems, we all have them right? Solving a problem is that someone has means they are willing to pay for a solution. Overweight people look for weight loss guides, smokers trying to quit, etc. Every market that you can possibly think of has its problems and those markets are looking for ways to get those problems solved.
How To Find That Niche Market With EzineArticles
Ezinearticles is one of the most reputable article directory site on the internet. To find a good niche that’s in demand, all you need to do is find a list of articles that’s been viewed the most this year.
The only problem is that EA does not have any search filters that allow you to do that. That’s OK! All you need to do is use this command in Google:
site:ezinearticles.com “This article has been viewed xxx..xxxx” “Article Submitted On: * *, 2010″
The red X’s represents the range of the “number of views” for the articles you’re searching. So if I was looking for articles that has between 5000 and 1,000,000 views this year, here’s how the search command would look like:

The search command looks cut off in the image above, but its all there!
Click the Google search and you’ll see a list of all the articles that has between 5000 and up to 1,000,000 views this year! (btw…I only used 1,000,000 to capture a larger sample of articles). Here are some of the results:

By using this search command, I was able to find this weight loss article that has over 90,000 views so far this year:

Go through these articles and see what niches people are searching for to solve their problems. So how are you guys looking for hot niche ideas for affiliate marketing besides using Ezinearticle? Would love to hear your thoughts and comments below!

Hey Jack,
This is really creative. Target the niches that are trending high. I already have an ezine account so I will give this a try. I’m pretty new to affiliate marketing so I would love to hear more ideas.

Hey Daniel – Finding the demand before committing to a niche will save you a lot of time, so it’s important to do the research first.

HI Ste – I agree….one of the few article directories that still manually approve articles….
Hey Jack,
You asked for comments on what we do:
I’m not in affiliate marketing, but here’s what I do to find my niche to target for my life insurance site, a very competitive online market.
I use the goolge adsense keyword tool to try to find some longer tail, less competitive keywords, like life insurance for overweight people, life ins for bipolars, life insurance for cigar smokers, etc. Anything that has a couple hundred hits or more per month, I’ll target as long as the competition is not too great.
I assess competition not by doing a google search for the keyword in parenthesis, “Life Insurance for Cigar Smokers”. If it has 25,000 results or less, that’s a plus. Then I search for allintitle:keyword, like allintitle:life insurance for cigar smokers. If it has 3,000 or less results, and the other query is <25K, I go for it.

Thanks for sharing Chris! If you haven’t done so already, make sure you run “exact match” for your KW terms. That should give you a more accurate number in terms of traffic.
