Have Multiple Mailing Lists On One Blog & Vice Versa Without Paying More

There are many things new blogger and internet marketers are concerned about (and should have every right to be!) when starting their own blog or site.  One of the most popular concerns I can imagine is the amount of capital you have to invest to get things up and running.

Like any other business, there will be an initial lost in the beginning in the form of start-up capital.  Getting a domain and a hosting account will run you close to $100 for a full year, but well worth the investment.  Why? because if you use a free hosted CMS like Blogspot, they can take down your site at anytime.  With a self-hosted site you own the blog and everything in it! :)

If you plan on owning multiple site…you can add multiple mailing lists from each of your site using one email service provider, for cheap!

Aweber is a very affordable and the most logical email service provider for internet marketers, hands down. You can set up Aweber to create different mailing lists for each niche site you own.  I read a great post regarding multiple mailing lists for a single blog that gets in-depth on the many features of Aweber.

Here is one of Aweber’s features from the post:

Aweber’s automation feature lets you configure special rules so that when people sign-up to a list they are automatically added to or removed from another list.  This is the feature you can use to transfer subscribers from a “leads” list to a “buyers” list, so that they stop receiving your pre-sales marketing materials and start receiving your after-sales content instead (ie, you don’t want to keep promoting a product to someone once they’ve bought it).

I use automation rules to add new subscribers from either of my lists into my main blog mailing list.  So for example when someone signs up to List #2 for the free ebook, they are also added to the general mailing list.

So there you go, for about 50 cents a day, you can hub all your mailing lists from multiple blogs on Aweber.

What’s Your Take?

What other email service provider have you used or using now that have met your needs in terms of handling multiple lists?  Would love to hear your thoughts below!

I had no idea that you could use Aweber to automatically move your members between lists! That sounds really handy. I currently only have one product on my blog (a free ebook), so I have need for only one list, but I can definitely see a use for multiple lists as time goes on.

Hey Tom, not sure if you can move members from list to list is a good idea, unless the niches are similar. But purging your list into one would be a idea if you’re sending similar content! :)
