Although working hard certainly does pay off, it’s crucial to organize your tasks when it comes to blogging in the order of importance. How do you determine which tasks have priority over others? Many bloggers gather so much information online that they don’t know what they should do first. Organizing your tasks based on importance will allow you to work smarter. First, you want to make a list of your daily tasks. For each task you want to answer these questions:
- How important is this task?
- How much time should I spend on this task?
- How much will I benefit from completing this task?
It’s important that you go through these questions and see which tasks are more important than others and which ones can wait. This exercise will help you discover which tasks matter most for the growth of your business. I read a great post on how to prioritize tasks from Mark Phillip’s blog. Here’s a quote that I liked from his post:
“This method has a hierarchical guideline that you should follow:
- PRIORITIZE-Your time and define your tasks by goals.
- ORGANIZING-Things you have to accomplish regularly to be successful (everyday administrative tasks, arriving on time to meetings, knowing where things are on your desk or computer).
- STREAMLINING-Things you may not like to do, but must do (specific project related tasks you’re not crazy about working on).
- ECONOMIZING-Things you should do or may even like to do, but they’re not pressingly urgent (working on projects you enjoy, longer term projects, personal development and learning new skills).
- CONTRIBUTING-By paying attention to the remaining things that make a difference but which may not have an immediate measurable benefit (that extra mile of detail, consideration or kindness).”

Hi Shilpy – It’s good sometimes to stop where you’re at for a break. Come back when you’re refreshed and don’t rush to get your post done, it would just give you more writer’s block.
Hope this helps! Keep it up!
