Why People Quit Before They Even Start
Have you ever tried researching and studying all the great blogs out there and you end up not spending anytime to build your own blog? The problem with building blogs from the ground up and having the internet as your guide is that you sometimes get side tracked reading other blogs for knowledge that you forget your action plan. Like many of you out there, I have the same problem with focusing on building my own blog instead of over-analyzing other blogs online.
Stop Being Perfect
Being a perfectionist and a blogger is a bad combination! You want everything to be perfect and running smoothly but realize that it’s eating up valuable time you could have spent elsewhere. For Example, many people spend days on end trying to find the perfect WordPress theme layout for their blog. When they don’t find the perfect layout, they give up! You have to learn that the design is only a small fraction of your blog’s success. Don’t spend too much time on the design aspect of your blog and focus on more important things like content, etc. You can always change the layout in the future, but you need to start your blog’s content today!
Imperfection Is Key
One of my key motivators for blogging are my blogging imperfections. As I build this blog, I know my blog is not where I want it to be and it helps motivate me to write more posts, leave comments on other blogs, improve my design, etc. Not being satisfied drives me to improve my blog some way or another. So stop trying to soak in all the information online and start executing your action plan to build up your blog’s traffic, exposure, etc.
