Add Twitter Links in Your Blog’s Comment Area
Another way to encourage readers to leave comments on your blog is to add their twitter link to the comment area. Adding another custom field to post your Twitter link will increase your followers list. Writing a useful comment will increase the likelihood of them following you, so make sure your comments are at least a few sentences long.
Post Twitter Username In Your Comments With The TwitterLink Comments Plugin
The TwitterLink Comments plugin allows you to display the commentator’s Twitter username alongside their name field and comments. You don’t have to mess with the code with to get this working. Just upload the plugin in your plugins folder, activate the plugin, mess with the settings a little, and your’re set.
Here are some of the features of the plugin:
- Completely automatic, no configuring required.
- Any HTML is filtered through kses using a custom array of allowed tags.
- Set the link as nofollow and open in a new window
- Fully compatible with Mu and Multi-db plugin.
- Twitter link is shown on all comments for a user as long as they comment at least once with their username.
- Localization support
- Italian translation included
After you have activated the plugin you will now see a blue box at the bottom of your comment box. All you have to do is type in your Twitter username, without any http or @ sign, and click submit after you finish writing your comment.
